When I was a child my mother used to squeeze way too much lotion onto her hands. Without asking, she’d grab my arms and smear the excess lotion all over me assuring me it was good for my skin. I hated it. I’d squirm and get so annoyed. How could she use me as her personal drying cloth? Little did I know, it was the beginning of a life long love for/addiction to hand lotion.

The Experience:
My bottle of lotion is almost empty. It sits by my desk at work and everytime I come back from the bathroom, shuffle a bunch of papers, touch something hot, or just, generally, need a little hand moisture, I reach for it. I apply it so often I don’t even think of it as a “beauty product”. It’s just something I need, something I use, something that makes my life easier.
And it smells like a dream. Anything that smells the slightest bit like coconut transports me to another realm. I am no longer working, sitting up, talking. I am playing, sprawled out on a beach, underneath a clear, sunny sky, drinking a mohito. My skin is not the color of paper but instead, the color of almonds and I’m laughing and there is a hot specimen of man and he’s touching m-
Ahem. Elf products are wonderful because not only are they so amazingly affordable but the scents are delectable - so good you could eat them - and the bottles are so damn pretty!
Tips:
- Buy them all up! They’re so cheap, why the hell not?
